#BlogBlitz #Extract - London Noir by Ann Girdharry

Memory loss, nightmares, the urge to kill – Sophie has it all.
Is it really Post Traumatic Stress Disorder? Or something more sinister? Kal is about to find out…

After a near-fatal road accident, Kal helps Sophie, a young girl in trouble.

The girl’s friends are being murdered one by one. Why? And who by?
Kal must kick start herself out of her downward spiral to save the young stranger.
But Kal is in the grip of the London Cartel, and is someone after the girl, or is the girl after someone?

It's my pleasure to be one of the blogs joining in with a special one day blog blitz for London Noir by Ann Girdharry today. Many thanks to the author and to Rachel Gilbey from Rachel's Random Resources for inviting me to take part. I will be reading and reviewing London Noir at a later date, in the meantime I have a short extract for you today.
In this scene Kal wants to find out why Sophie seeks shelter in the red-light district. She starts by approaching a group of prostitutes…

When Kal drove back to number thirty-three, dusk was settling in. Montgomery Road lay quiet, except for a posse of girls loitering near the end of the street. Luckily for the prostitutes, the dark clouds had cleared. London didn’t get many August storms and this one left the pavements smelling newly-washed clean. The accumulated debris had been swept down the drains and the long line of parked cars glistened, freed from their summer dust coats.
Kal walked over to the group. There were eight women in all and they were talking to a man. Or rather, a man was talking to them.
‘Please pass it around and I’ll give a reward to anyone who has information,’ he said.
Kal made sure to approach out of their line of sight. This was possible with everyone except the man. She was an expert at blending in and she hung at the margin of the group, keeping her head down and her shoulders hunched. With their interest focused on the well-dressed man, none of the women paid Kal any attention. She kept still, careful not to ruffle any feathers.
Kal glanced at the paper the man held out. Oh no, no…

I'm really looking forward to reading more now and if that has tempted you, London Noir is available FREE from Amazon for 48 hours from today!
