Week in Words: 4th June - 11th June 2017

I haven't managed to read much this week, the excitement/fear/anger (delete as appropriate) prior to, and after the General Election meant I was glued more to social media and the TV than I was to books for once.

Books

That solitary book was The Darkness Within by Cathy Glass writing as Lisa Stone. I've not read any of Cathy Glass' books so chose this book due to its description. It's about a man whose personality changes dramatically after he has a heart transplant. I have to admit I didn't love this one - you'll have to read my review to find out why...

I did manage to publish three reviews despite slacking on the reading front. First up was The Former Chief Executive by Kate Vane followed by We've Come to Take You Home by Susan Gandar. Today I'm one of the hosts for the blog tour for Wolves in the Dark by Gunnar Staalesen.

Television
As I said I've mostly been glued to social media and the news channels this week. It goes without saying that I watched Doctor Who of course! I also watched the spin-off talent show on ITV, The Voice Kids. As somebody who can't sing for toffee I'm always impressed by singers, particularly when they're so young. The girl who was really shy then belted out Nutbush City Limits, complete with moves she learned from James Brown on YouTube is my early favourite.

Next Week
I've started reading Wicked Game by Matt Johnson and should be starting Blood Moon by John David Bethel and Dodgers by Bill Beverly.
I'm also intrigued by the post I received from No Exit Press. I know that other book bloggers have also received cards with different messages on. Very clever publicity!

I should also have a few more reviews up if I manage to tear myself away from rubbernecking the political car crash...

As always, happy reading everyone!
